The Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde collection receives, in 2020, several new models, which result in variations in materials and techniques used, above all, in the dials and cases.

Grande Seconde Off-Centred em Jade Preto

The Grande Seconde Off-Centred appears, in 2020, in a combination of red gold – in the 43 mm case – and black jade on the dial. Although the design of the Grande Seconde, created by Pierre Jaquet-Droz almost three centuries ago, is always recognizable, in this model it presents a masterful difference. Here, the time display is shown in a decentralized manner. The alignment of the hours and minutes with the independent seconds is respected, but along a slightly inclined axis, between 1 o’clock and 7 o’clock.

The highlight of this Grande Seconde Off-Centred, limited to 88 pieces, is the material used on the dial: black jade. Hand-crafted like a mineral sheet just 1 mm thick, black jade is framed by the warm, coppery tones of the case’s red gold, a precious material that is repeated on both counters and hands.

Grande Seconde Skelet-One

The Grande Seconde Skelet-One line receives two new variations, one that stands out for its use of ceramic plasma and another for its red gold drapery.

For the first time in its long history, Jaquet Droz uses ceramic plasma in its watches. This plasma is produced by transforming white ceramics with gas heated to 20,000 ° C, providing an exclusive metallic luster, without adding metal fragments to the process. This modification maintains all the properties inherent to ceramics: hardness, lightness and resistance to scratches.

Thus, one of the new variations of the Grande Seconde Skelet-One is presented with a ceramic plasma case, with anthracite gray skeletonized dial and a gray textile bracelet. The other, more traditional version of the Skelet-One, appears in a red gold case, accompanied by a leather strap with a new rubber-like finish.

Both models come in a 41 mm case, with a skeletonized JD2663.SQ automatic caliber, where the fully suspended gear train is connected to the skeletonized bridges, raised by the oscillating weight, also skeletonized.

Grande Seconde Quantième

The Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Quantième presents, this year, seven new dials, four of them in different enamel tones. Thus, this model now appears with an anthracite, burgundy, dark blue and ivory enamel dial, all with a 41 mm rose gold case.

The Grande Seconde Quantième is also available with a white gold case and titanium dial or with a steel case and a silver or matt black dial. All models are powered by an automatic caliber with 68 hours of power reserve.
