Sporty and, at the same time, elegant, the Polo collection now receives a new ultra-thin skeleton model, the Piaget Polo Skeleton. Turbilhão tried on the new watch and tells you everything.

The new Piaget Polo Skeleton is the perfect embodiment of Maison’s areas of expertise. On the one hand, the longstanding mastery of creating ultra-thin watches and, on the other hand, the ability to play with shapes and materials and to transform a movement into a piece of miniaturized architecture.

In fact, the new Polo Skeleton combines the elegant and sporty Polo case with one of the thinner automatic movements available on the market (2.4 mm), the skeletonized caliber Piaget 1200S1, with micro-rotor. Although it is not a completely new development, this skeletonized version of the 1200P movement appears in this model with a new light and refined finishes.

This open and contemporary caliber gives the new Polo a clean, modern design, with harmonious curves and beautiful contrasts. The skeletonization work allows the light to work right in the center of its intricate construction. Available in slate galvanic gray or blue PVD – which is the characteristic shade of Piaget and the one we had the opportunity to try – the color contributes to the bold character of the watch. Operating at 3 Hz, the 1200S caliber provides approximately 44 hours of power reserve. The skeletonized hands show the hours and minutes and the time is indicated by means of faceted markers applied to the inner flange.

Regarding the 42 mm cushion-shaped case, the highlight is its thickness of only 6.5 mm, much thinner than previous versions, which adds comfort and transforms the Piaget Polo Skeleton into a model that easily rests on thinner wrists, such as female wrists, for example. The alternating surfaces of the case – polished and satin – capture the light and add elegance to the watch.

The Piaget Polo Skeleton is delivered with an integrated H-link steel bracelet and a crocodile leather strap, which matches the color of the movement: blue or gray. Thanks to a practical quick-change system, we can switch between the steel bracelet and the leather strap in just a few seconds, without the need for tools.

On the wrist, the watch has great presence, looks good and is extremely comfortable.
